Mythology of Cancer and Scorpio
Cancer's Greek legend begins with the goddess Hera placing a crab figure in the night sky, which formed the Cancer constellation. She did this as a reward to the crab she sent to help the serpent kill Heracles, who was crushed in the battle by Heracles foot.
The story of Scorpio also is based in Greek mythology as it is told that Zeus put Orion in the stars with a scorpion forever chasing him. Orion had become friends with Artemis, which made her brother Apollo very jealous. Apollo sent a scorpion to sting Orion's heel. Artemis became angry, killed the scorpion, and demanded an apology. Faced with Artemis dashing his city of Delphi, Apollo apologized.
Compatibilities of Cancer and Scorpio
Cancer is compatible with the other water signs, Scorpio and Pisces. In addition, the earth signs of Capricorn, Taurus, and Virgo. Due to the cardinal quality that is shared among the Cancer sign with Aries and Libra, there is only semi-compatibility between them.
