Difference between Las Vegas and Atlantic City
Las Vegas and Atlantic City have one major thing in common and that is gambling and casinos. People travel across the United States to go to these two cities for a wonderful vacation full of fun, gambling and excitement. While Las Vegas is on the west side of the U.S., New Jersey is on the east side and both are very warm during the summer. Atlantic City is much smaller than Las Vegas; Las Vegas has a city the size of 1,313 sq. mi. and covers a plot of land equivalent to 131.2 sq. mi. where as Atlantic City has a city area of 17.4 sq. mi. and a land size of 11.4 sq. mi.
Education
Las Vegas is home to some great schools including for the University of Nevada and the University of Nevada Medical School. The University of Phoenix also has a campus that is located in Las Vegas as well as and ITT Technical Institute for those who need to study online. Atlantic City serves mainly grades K through 12 and doesn't offer many universities. Some colleges, however, that are present are Richard Stockton College of NJ and also the Atlantic Cape Community College.
Things to Do
If you are just looking for a good time, sports fans can check out some major sports places like Atlantic City Race Course or the Atlantic City Cardsharks. You can check out the Atlantic City Boardwalk, go to amusement parks, museums, antique shopping for the adults, spend time as a spa, the beach or even spend some time at the golf courses.
In Las Vegas check out the Titanic Exhibition, Gameworks, Pole Position Raceways, the movies are shown at some clubs for late night fun or go to the circus with the kids. You may wish to go to Treasure Island or M&M's World for some huge fun!
Casinos
Atlantic City has over 10 casinos that tourists and residence can enjoy while they are staying in Atlantic City. A few are the Atlantic City Hilton, Showboat, Trump Plaza and the Harrah's Atlantic City. Atlantic City comes second to Las Vegas with the number of Casinos available but it's known as the "Gambling Capital of the East Coast."
Some of the best and most popular casinos in Las Vegas are Caesars Palace, Bellagio, Encore Las Vegas, Four Seasons, Hard Rock, Paris, Red Rock, The Palazzo, Ritz-Carlton, The Venetian, Wynn, Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and Flamingo Las Vegas. These particular places are huge with over years and years of business as well as games and fun.
