In my experience with these two chocolates, Godiva simply has a better quality. I am a picky eater, and I only eat things that have the right texture. Lindt dark chocolate tastes nothing like dark chocolate at all, and it's too hard. Godiva, on the other hand, melts in my mouth and has the perfect taste of dark chocolate.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
It is just the best. A pure perfection.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
You get what you pay for! Lindt is oversaturated in the market and consequently it's usually stale.

Delicious

no reason,, it's subjective,, It's my idea of what chocolate should taste like..
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The dark chocolate has a smooth rich flavour, you can almost taste a liquor in the truffle.

After comparing the extra cost is worth it. Godiva is similar to expensive chocolate I actually had in Brussells.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Exquisite, rich taste...simply melts in your mouth. Deliciously creamy and smooth--true luxury chocolate, with elegant/eyecatching and appetizing packaging.

Smoother rich taste
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Godiva is no doubt superior amongst all globally commercial chocolates. Even taste testing the actual Belgian shops at the square, Godiva was indeed the benchmark for me. Lindt may have that super smooth texture on the tongue as it melts ( lecithin laden and possibly Lindt's signature tempering technique) but nothing compares to the rich cocoa butter content of Godiva. Leaning towards the basics chocolate bars, dark chocolates usually and their blood orange variety is hard to forget. I find truffles altogether too sweet for my liking. But again looking at the selection alone Godiva offers a more lively palate teasing options berries, fruits that are tart vs plain rich centered Lindt truffles.

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I love the smooth insides of a lindor!
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
It's has a more rich and creamier taste. While eating Lindt chocolates it feels like I'm having a taste-****. With Godiva, it just has a weird waxy taste to it. All it seems good for is just its looks and presentation of its chocolates. Lindt is better than Godiva not only for its taste but for its cheaper, more affordable price and easier access (finding it in stores much easier).
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
It has a much smoother texture than Godiva, which I think is a bit gritty. I just ate a Godiva truffle, and I know the Lindt truffles are much smoother.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Creamier, smoother texture, better mouth feel. Many items are simpler allowing for the flavor of the chocolate to be experienced.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Chocolate melts in your mouth its so delicious.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
A few moments ago, I was sampling both kinds of chocolates and Lindt definitely has a smoother, more luxurious flavor. The Godiva chocolates don't seem that different from any other box of chocolates I've tried, other then the inflated price tag.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They just do.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
While both are the upper echelon of mainstream chocolate, Lindt just seems to offer more bang for the buck. They are both nice, but the lower pricing of Lindt means you can give in more often to your craves ;)
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
my opinion is Lindt chocolate has more charactor in tast.

I really love Lindt Excellence 90% Supreme Dark Chocolate =)
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Personal preference. Taste is better.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I find Lindt to be texturally more creamy, the flavor a bit more intensely chocolate blended with sweet and for me a much more luxurious experience of chocolate. I don't.like the slightly crunchy shell of Godiva truffles, that the filling kind of falls out and separates and it's just not as overwhelmingly rich-which in chocolate is not as good .
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
its really awesome.just cant forget the flavour.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I'm often disappointed by Godiva. The taste doesn't live up to the looks or the price. The Lindor truffles are soooooooo tasty and smooth. Amazing considering the price. Even if Godiva's on sale, I prefer Lindt.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Smoother taste, Godiva is very gritty and overly sweet.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I found this blog because I just tried a Godiva dark chocolate almond truffle. I usually eat Lindor truffles so I held it in my mouth like I usually do savoring the smooth chocolate as it slowly melts. The Godiva truffle collapsed within seconds releasing a mud-like filling with almond pieces. It almost felt like a lump of dirt was in my mouth. None of the creamy, delicious goodness you get once the thick shell of a Lindor truffle finally separates. Underwhelmed to say the least.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They are much creamier than any other chocolate. Godiva has pretty molds for their chocolate but if you were blind folded, you would guess they were Hersheys.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I've had both and my opinion is Lindt taste better. The Godiva chocolate was too rich. Godiva is still very good
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The ganache inside is creamier in a lindor truffle, and a creamier and more velvetty texture than the godiva. I believe this is truer to what a truffle should ideally be like.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
dark chocolate has more complex flavor.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
just as good of quality with a cheaper price
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Love the texture and taste of lindt
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
After working at Godiva for so long, and eating a variety of different chocolates, I found that Lindt has a smoother taste than that of Godiva. Godiva has a flat, slightly waxy taste in certain basic truffles, and an overwhelming sweetness. Amazingly enough, a lot of the workers preferred Lindt over Godiva when blind test tasting chocolates....and with no surprise. I love lindt truffles far more than godiva truffles, and can taste the quality of the two immediately.

Lindt's dark chocolate is smooth and delicious.

Lindt is a little less expensive but stil luxuriously delicious.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
It's a melt-in-your-mouth feeling kind of chocolate that only Lindt delivers. Godiva is OK, but overpriced and not as delicious. For crazy different expensive yummy chocolate I would recommend Vosges. Enjoy.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
beautifully constructed
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
very smooth chocolate with just the right amount of sweetness. Prices are far reasonable than Godiva. I have tried Godiva several times and have always felt that the taste (no better than Lindt) is not justifiable at all at the price point at which it's sold
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
the flavore of lindt is much better godiva has an aftertaste
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Well i try godiva and lindt and the lindt ate better because the lindt are very smooth and cremy
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because Lindt has just the right amount of richness to it and creaminess.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Lindt tastes smooth

The reason Lindt is better is because Luca, a Swiss student and an expert on chocolate, said this. He is never wrong. He is always right. He is Swiss. What more do I need to say? He is.....LUCA!!!!!
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Lindt is creamier.

It taste better.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I like Lindt's 60% extra dark chocolate . Godiva 's chocolate is too sweet.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Lindt has a much smoother creamier taste that literally melts in your mouth. Godiva although good does not have that creamy smooth taste that makes you want more. Also, Lindt is the only chocolate that minces its almonds making their milk chocolate almond bar the best bar out of all the luxury brands. All other brands have small chunks of almonds in their bars where Lindt literally minces their almonds allowing the bar to remain, extra cream and rich.

The varieties are more individual, especially noticeable with the truffles. Also Lindt is more 'full' tasting with nice under or overtones. Nothing beats Lindt "Mozart" for subtle sweetness.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Chocolate founded older than godiva
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because its texture is very smooth and it taste very nice
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I never tasted Godiva before. Always Lindt. My friend gave me a bag of Godiva truffles when she came to visit me at New Years. No comparison! I think the centres of Lindt way better and the chocolate too. I find Godiva very ordinary.

I haven't had a lot of Godiva chocolate, but that's because I didn't like what I had. It tasted cheap and, well, ordinary. Lindt is always creamy and has a unique taste. I love Lindt's variety of flavours. It never disappoints.

Lindt has a "melt I your mouth" quality that Godiva does not. As it is melting in your mouth, you can actually feel the endorphins in your brain start to spread. The relaxation effect starts almost immediately. I enjoy both but there is ALWAYS a Lindt bar in my fridge when I need it.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
It is so smooth and well made

To me Lindt is more smooth and classic at the same time.

What
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The white truffle by lindt is smoother and risher. There are sugar grains (i think it is sugar) in the Godiva i just tried. The Lindor line has a crisper shell.

Lindt is more finely milled, smoother and richer mouth feel while in direct comparison Godiva is flatter and more grainy. Also from ingredients the Lindt milk and dark 70% seem to contain less chemicals . Just an observation from a consumer of fine chocolates :)

Lindt relies on flavor and texture, not just on looks; when a friend gave me her box of pricey Godiva dessert chocolates, I was surprised they weren't as "all that" as the price might suggest. Sure, they were good, but I'd buy Lindt over Godiva in most cases. I've tried the non-Godiva shop mass marketed truffle bagged chocolates, too, and again, they don't quite hit the mark of Lindt (just so you know I've tried both sorts, the mass market ones and the pricey ones direct from their exclusive store). If you need something super-fancy looking, you might opt for Godiva, but if you're in it for the flavor/texture, Lindt wins.

Godiva started to use lower quality ingredients, whereas Lindt has never done that. In addition, the mouthfeel of Lindt is creamer.

Smooth and elegant chocolate flavor with an ideal 'melt on the tongue' quality. With Lindt chocolates I taste the chocolate. When I taste Godiva chocolates I taste sugar.

Lindt is the only choclate out of the 2 I've ever tasted, and I think just by its taste alone it could beat Godiva.

The Lindt seems more or less smoother than Godiva. I wouldn't turn either chocolates down, but I just like better. I usually choose Lindt when I have a choice.
  • Anonymous . May 2022
because Lindt is creamier then Godiva if you know what I mean
  • Anonymous . July 2022
It is smoother in texture and provides a gentle melt-in-the-mouth flavour. I've noticed that often, Godiva is rather sudden
  • Anonymous . August 2022
The texture is exceptional. Zero waxiness. There is a nice, sharp contrast between the milk & dark chocolates as it should be.

I would choose these over Godiva any day, plus with the savings I could afford more.

Godiva is beautiful chocolate. I may buy some on occasion for an office gift, but I personally don't want pretty. I want 'Damn that's some good chocolate!'
