I've gone to one all my life, I'm 17. For the most part, they were pretty cool.

Because they have to deal with babies and children. adults care more about the health of their child/grandchild etc. then their health which is why Pediatricians are there to take care of them.

I select this option because even though a family doctor is beneficial for some cases but the pediatrician is highly recommended for new parents because children doctor knows different types of sickness that children get and how and what ways they can recover from it. The pediatricians study medicine for infants and children. So in my perspective, I think pediatricians are better for new parents and their babies. they have a good bond between the doctor and children. Also they show more care to the babies and infants and willing to do whatever it takes to make the kids smile when it is getting shots.

A family doctor cares for the needs of the entire family. Also, they seem more likely to delve into the root cause of ongoing issues, knowing the entire family and less likely to over prescribe.

My children are nine and twelve with no learning disabilities, major medical issues and are no longer babies. I think at their ages it may be benificial to have a family doctor for the whole family. Have family medical records with one office together. Also I feel the pediatric offices are often overbooked. Furthermore I would prefer when we do go to our doctor we would be seen by he/she each visit opposed to a network of doctors... I want to know our doctor well and develop a family connection with he/she.

A doctor who knows the whole family is important! Problems occur genetically and communicably in family's. Without my family medicine physician knowing the genetic problems in my family, I would not have been diagnosed with my heart problem.
