Because he is better. He doesn't do **** little tricks on street magic or audience actors. david copperfiled does epic illusions such as wlak though the Great Wall of Chins and make the Statue of Liberty dissappear.

David Copperfield,in my opinion, is a better illusionist, and has better tricks than Angel. Angel has been known to use camera tricks, while David does almost all of his tricks in front of a live audience. Copperfield includes humor in his show and they are more enjoyable. Angel's shows are dark and a bit confusing
I've heard too many negative comments from people who have seen Chris Angel. All the people around him are in on the trick. David Copperfield is by far the best.

David Copperfield is a true professional who will not sacrifice the intellence of his audience. His illusions, unlike Criss Angel's, are planned with a high-art aesthetic and he makes the flow between each segment appear almost effortless. Copperfield is really the last of the truly great originals in magic.
Criss Angel's trick's are easy to figure out. Copperfield is a master.

Though I respect Criss Angel for re-introducing the Art of Magic to a new generation of cynics ;)...And I do believe he is a VERY GOOD magician....However, I do not believe that Mr. Angel has the showmanship or level of innovative prowess that David Copperfield has always possessed. They have both performed impressive illusions on TV (which leaves any cynic even more jaded than before). But Mr. Copperfield is more than just a phenomenal magician....he is an extraordinary storyteller who is capable of winning over his audiences, no matter how cynical they may be, with his style, grace and class. And he can also do it on the stage, as well, with equal success and thrills. Criss Angel has a great look, great magic team, and a plethora of magical possibilities at his disposal, but only if they are performed on TV and TV alone. But more importantly, his magic and performance style holds a level of arrogance and insecurity which stifles his actual performances due to the fact that he seems to always be trying to prove himself better than anyone else than actually just doing his job...to entertain. In my opinion, David Copperfield is the best magician since Harry Houdini not because his illusions are better but because his true magical gift, much like Houdini's was, is the ability to make you actually BELIEVE for a brief moment in time that anything is possible. Criss Angel pales in comparison.
