Lowe's has EXCELLENT customer service. We purchased an power washer from Home Depot that turned out to be a lemon. Not only did they not want to help us in any way, they acted irritated that we even bothered them with our issue. In contrast, we now shop solely at Lowe's, who actually CALL us the following week after major purchases (appliances and carpet installation) to make sure everything is working properly and if we are satisfied. We are always helped promptly when we call or go in with questions, and feel the staff is really interested in finding the right product for our family. In addition, Lowe's has the courage to corporately sponsor wholesome and family -oriented activities. We will never go to Home Depot again.

The majority of homeowners are not contractors. Instead they are the ones who may be completing home improvements or remodeling. In addition, as a female DYIer I also know that IF I am going to find someone who will help then it will be there, not Home Depot.
