Idk
  • Anonymous . January 2022
Because some can orbit the earth
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I wouldn't say comets are rocks. Meteor is a bright light. I inductively reached the conclusion.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
idk
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because their is an asteroid belt near Mars, and Mars is the nearest planet.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
If memory serves, asteroids are space rocks that are much more common in size and number. Meteors are much larger, but do not come within the range of Earth as frequently and comet are small enough that they are vaporized upon entering the Earth's atmosphere.

no clue
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I just guessed!!!
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
This is because most of the rocks I hear about are called meteors
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Read an article online saying that they frequent the Earth more times than what was originally thought so this is the closest answer I can think of as being right.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Comets are big spectacles. Nobody really notices when an asteroid hits because we're always getting hit by tiny ones.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Like it come some years
Maybe in thw furture more will come
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Meteors burn up once they hit the earths atmosphere. Comets are basically light particles.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because they are more near to the earth
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
b cuz
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
A meteor is a light, and a comet coming to earth would be far more devastating (due to it being made up of MANY rocks)

Comet - 16

  • Anonymous . December 2020
lol
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
they are usually in a fixed orbit that visits the earth during predictable times such as Haley comet
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Smaller but larger dispersal pattern.

Asteroids are faster and can pass through systems.

Meteors are giant chunks of rock and iron and other compsite elements.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because I think it would look like that
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because reasons
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago

Meteor - 165

  • Anonymous . February 2023
We see them very often, as shooting stars.
  • Anonymous . December 2022
If a meteor is a body that can be seen due to friction with the Earth’s atmosphere, then I would think that becoming a meteor would be an inevitable part of a space rock coming to Earth.
  • Anonymous . May 2022
In a video I watched it said a asteroid that enters into earth is a meteor
  • Anonymous . March 2022
They appear in earth’s atmosphere
  • Anonymous . July 2021
They only appear in earths atmosphere
  • Anonymous . July 2021
comet are very rare
  • Anonymous . May 2021
Meteors enter Earth’s atmosphere

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They are the most abundant in space and most seen coming through our atmosphere as they burn.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They pass through the earth's atmosphere
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
total guess
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
meteors are flash phenomena that appear in the earths atmosphere
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
An asteroid becomes a meteor when it comes through the earth's atmosphere.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because meteors are meteoroids that hit the earth which is then called a meteorite and have been seen most often to hit earth.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Can only exist in our atmosphere
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
More often seen and more fragments found
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Seen many land impacts
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because of their appearance in earth's atomosphere.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Meteors are rocks that actually enter Earth's atmosphere. Asteroid's only orbit the Sun and comets are outside of our atmosphere or else they'd become a meteor. (I'm not sure I'm correct on that last part of comets becoming meteors.)
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Meteors occur only in the Earth's atmosphere
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because asteroids cease being asteroids when they leave stationary orbit, and I have been to millions of meteor showers and no comets' shower EVER!
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because I just saw one
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Needs atmosphere
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
We experience meteor showers frequently. Do to the size and speed of an asteroid and comet a collision with earth would be a probable destructive event.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
We see it because it has entered the esrth’s Atmosphere.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
if it comes closest to the earth it is most likely going to be the one that comes to earth most often
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
cos it seems right
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Asteroids are in the asteroid belt, comets orbit the sun, asteroids are seen when they enter earth's atmosphere
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
More, smaller bodies exist, which results in a greater chance to interact with the Earth.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They are smaller and can be seen entering the atmosphere. Asteroids by definition have more stable orbits. Comets may not hit the earth...
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
if it enters the earths atmosphere it is more likely to hit the ground.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because it's in our atmosphere
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Meteor is result of frictional force between a celestial object and earths atmosphere. As many near earth celestial objects try to cross earth atmosphere, the phenomenon of meteor could be termed as more frequent.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because we can see them most often.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
YOUR MOMS ****
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
meteors are in earths atmosphere
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I just guesses...
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
By definition it is so.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because a comet is many rocks while a meteor is only one and usually burns up before hitting the earth
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Daily meteor showers
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because I wanted to
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
the paragraphs above told me
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
It's true.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Meteors appear in Earth's atmosphere.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
idk
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
i learned it in Science
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
cause I saw it on tv once
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
cuz y not
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I have chosen this because meteor revolves around sun and due to earths gravitational force enters in earth atmosphere and is heated by air friction.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Most often only detected upon entering earth's atmosphere.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because Meteors enter earth's atmosphere.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I chose this option because in the visibility subtitle it said meteors are can be seen with the naked eye.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I've seen landing sites so it was just an educated guess.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because, according to this article, it is what we see the most often from Earth. Comets pass most often by the sun. Asteroids are most likely concentrated in the asteroid belt.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Asteroids would be catastrophic. Comets are somewhat rare, and meteors enter the Earth's atmosphere quite often...
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Yea
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Only meteors enter Earth's atmosphere.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
It said in the description
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
meteor showers
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
ive seen so many "shooting stars"
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
they are in earths atmosphere
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Asteroids and comets usually orbit objects, not sure how fast the orbit decays so I'm just guessing meteors enter the Earth's atmosphere more often than objects that orbit it. Too many variables involved for a layman like myself to predict this accurately. Simply used what I hope are the facts I read on this page.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
cool dude
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
cool
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Asteroids and comets are rare sightings often announced individually. Meteor viewings are spoken of as showers which are multiple sightings without names. That sounds more common.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
meteors can be small and numerous, are seen frequently without a telescope, rarely hit earth, and usually don't do damage, whereas asteroids and comets are larger and can cause catastrophic damage if they hit earth.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
meteor orbits the earth
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Least amount of mass.

meteors appear in Earths atmosphere
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Meteors are in the earths atmosphere.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
asteroids turn into meteors once they enter earth's atmosphere.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because it appears in earth's atmosphere. Comet could be rare & far.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
butts
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Asteroids rarely leave there orbits around the sun. Same for comets

Watching Nova: Meteor Strike on Netflix. Very informational!
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I have a bachelor's degree in science.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The definition of a meteor is that it is a brief and bright light caused by friction in the Earth's atmosphere.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I guessed
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Duh
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because I read the definitions and meteor is right.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Meteors frequently hit the planet and do little harm. If comets or asteroids frequently hit the planet we wouldn't be here anymore.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
._______________>
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because they enter earths atmosphere.

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Meteor is an asteroid that enters earths atmosphere hence it must come to earth... Comets orbits the sun while asteroids are protoplanets lying in space
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
People don't collect fallen comets and asteroids. Meteorites must be more common.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Just cuzz
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
by definition a meteor is something in our atmosphere
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
" A meteor is a brief and bright light which crosses the sky "
but i dont like your websites explanation
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because a meteor is an astroid that has left the astroid belt and hit a planet. But it is broken and never hits earth because of our atmosphere
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because aasteroid never threatens anything and comets are harmless
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
meteor is a quick bright light emitted when it hits the earth's atmosphere.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
duhhhhh
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
it's the one easiest to see
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because the meteor killed the dinisour
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because facebook ruined the Internet and now u have to comment and give a blood sample just to get through a goddamn hyperlink. Its like we built a highway but there are police checkpoints every 100 yards and traffic never moves due to jackasses stopping to take picutes and chat at about the whole cluster ****.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
meteor are very common in space and are small enough to get destroyed in the earth's atmosphere
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because they are closest to Earth
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because they are like shooting stars
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The Lyrid meteors seem pretty common
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Suppose a meteor or asteroid fell into the Atlantic ocean. Assume that the object was of a size that created a 200 foot (61m) ocean wave in all directions. In this scenario everything (people, homes, industries, personnel, power lines, bridges) is damaged or destroyed in low lying Atlantic coastal and tidal areas of Europe and North America. Of course the wave didn't reach higher elevations where people are beginning to assess how they might be indirectly impacted by the event. After several days they hear the news that numerous nuclear power plants, that had been built in low lying coastal areas of Europe and North America, are beginning to melt down simultaneously - with no personnel available to reestablish the sources of backup power that were all ruined by the wave.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
cause it is true
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
It has to appear in the Earth's atmosphere to be a meteor.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because it said so
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
"Shooting stars" are meteors and are often seen in the night sky.

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I picked meteor due to the definition of action of the celestial entity.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They become visible when they enter the earth's atmosphere.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
As described, the explination suggests that a meteor is the only one to enter the atmosphere.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They exist within Earth's atmosphere
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
the is the centre ofthe solar system
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Definition of Meteor characterizes this by the fact that it enters Earth's atmosphere. Conversely, the definitions of Asteroid and Comet seem to exclude penetration of atmosphere by comparison.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
meteor..that will be the new explanation for future nuclear accidents,,,,,, to squelch public protest and insight, a "ITS A NATURAL DISASTER.... What can I say? .... I slept with a guy from the pentagon...WAKE UP AMERICA.... you being spoon fed propaganda daily...A large meteorite could level the entire country of Iran...and the United States could respond hiring **** Chaney and his cronies to rebuild the country...all paid for by you the taxpayer All these nuclear weapons dismantled...I slept with a guy paid to dismantle at a facility near Amarillo Texas...he pretended to be a part of an effort at peace relations with Russia.....however no bombs dismantled ...and more secret storage facilities in progress...
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
these include the rock that cross the earth
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Comets orbit the sun and asteroids orbit planets.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
it's a most frequently reported event.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
These are the only one's that enter the earth's atmosphere. Asteroids are concentrated in the Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter and Comet are concentrated near the sun.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
enter the earth's atmosphere
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
unpredictable. don't have a path.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because thousands of meteors enter the Earths atmosphere daily, while the other two come by as there elliptical pass by Earth, it could be years or centuries before they are seen again.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
In order to qualify as a meteor, an object must enter the earth's atmosphere.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
meteor showers
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
be cuz i feelz likz itz
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I see them at least twice a year.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
cause meteors include asteroids and comets hur dur
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because its smaller and faster to enter the earth's atmosphere
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
It's logical.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
smaller mass
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because you said that meteors are the ones that come into the earth's atmosphere and can be seen by the naked eye. Asteroids and comets don't come into the earth's atmosphere as frequently, I beleive.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because I read about past meteors reaching our surface.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because one exploded over Russia today.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They enter the Earths' atmosphere
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
much more small debris in the heavens than the other two. in space collisions of large bodies produced billions of potential meteors, some some of which get caught in earth's gravitational pull.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I read
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
There are many more meteors.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because of size and more numerious...
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
****
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because it is mostly seen and also visible around the earth surface. which cause friction with in the particles around, which mostly is viewable with naked eye
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
i really dont know....
maybe because there are remains of meteors in some part of the earth

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
GUESS
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
. . .because meteor "showers" are common. unless i missread, it sounds like any asteroid that comes to earth will be called a "meteor" upon doing so. and any comet coming to earth would be called "OHHH SHH#!" ;-)
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
meteor is associated with the observable phenomenom on earth (strictly speaking)

Meteor is visable streak of light caused when a meteoriod travels through the eath's atmosphere.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because they come into the earths atmosphere more often
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
all(natural) small particles and large objects would be classified as meteors as the enter the atmosphere.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
a meteor , by definition, is a chunk of something which which enters our atsmophere and burns across the sky, and hopefully burns up before killing people.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
meteors are created when they hit the earth's atmosphere and so by definition are closer to the earth than either an asteroid (which usually lives in the asteroid belt, far far away), or a comet (which has super long orbits that take them far away also).
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
plenty of debris entering the earth's atmosphere everday (day or night).
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because it is correct
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Becuse we have meteor showers all the time
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They can be seen with the naked eye once then enter the earth's atmosphere.
