Radio Shack is under-stocked and over-priced with shoddy merchandise and employees afraid to not push customers into buying (1)worthless service plans and (2)cell phones even if all they came in for was batteries.

Best Buy has more selection than Radio Shack for completed items, where as Radio Shack is the electronic do it yourself store. But that is not the only reason most of the items at Radio Shack can be bought from other stores such as Wal-Mart for a lower price. Radio Shack tends to be over pricing itself.

Former and disgruntled RadioShack manager.
Overpriced on most things, rediculously overpriced on cables/connector type items. 90% of their merchandise can be had elsewhere and cheaper. The era of the corner drugstore with a tube checker are long gone, RadioShack's era is in its deathrows.

Really sad, instead of 6000 small stores, they should have created 1000 big stores. Pay fairer wages, hired knowledgeable staff instead of cheap unskilled labor.

Radio Shack seems to have good prices. What makes the differences is not only what they offer, but if the employees know about the product. I have had three employees at Best Buy tell me three different things about the same product. Radio Shack told me what I needed to know. Now I am looking to buy another product and again I have Best Buy employees guessing at the answer - or telling me what they think. Well, I can think too - and I have checked out facts on the web. Kind of know when they are clueless or guessing. Other people
just say not only are they kind of dumb, they only tell you what they think is important, not an overview of bad and good things about reviews and ratings. In this economy, everyone likes to spend wisely
and chances are they know more than a guess or an assumption - they want solid facts from the manufacturer - not an employees friends or numbers of sales
they sell (or price)
