I choose Netflix as they have been my very special movie providers for years, they have provided me with entertainment at a price I can afford and they have an extensive library on hand.
They win hands down!

It gives you the best of both worlds.. mail rental and video on demand for the most economical cost. But, amazon has the best instant streaming choices.. but it is pay per view.

Netflix usually carries a huge amount of tv seasons and hard to find tv shows.

Wide selection of BBC tv, classics, foreign, and independents. Plus ability to view queue on tv screen and choose. If you discover you don't like your selection, pick another.

Netflix's streaming choices tend to be older, but a lot of content is enjoyable to watch. Discovery, Animal Planet, TV shows, etc offers a huge variety, and all for one monthly price vs a pay-per-view on the others. If the movie stinks, you just blew coin with the other two. I like older movies, so this works best for my needs.

because amazon has every title streaming unlike netflix which has a horrible streaming selection, for example on amazon you can watch movies the same day they are released on dvd, but with netflix, they don't have any premium titles streaming, only the low budget films you have probably never heard of or have any desire to view.

I chose Amazon after years of using Netflix service. Initially I went only with the Amazon Prime service, because the flat rate free shipping program included "Prime Vids" for free.

We had horrible experiences watching Netflix streaming movies, as they were always stopping and having to be restarted. It got to the point where we were willing to pay Amazon more for their higher priced service, because the streaming has been flawless for four month since we started the service.

From what I understand, Amazon will soon be coming out with a flat rate streaming service that will be even less expensive than Netflix, with better streaming infrstructure.

Many times I have found that the movie I want to see is unavailable online with Netflix and I am tired of the physical DVD mailing option. I also like that Amazon lets you search by actor. They have the largest movie selection online in my opinion.

Yes, they cost more - - but, if you do a yearly cost comparison, it is worth it.
