My parents always tell me how important it is to pick my friends carefully, And I truly care about what my parents have to say. Also, after watching the celebrities and how screwed up their lives have become, I don't want to let them or the media influence what I look for in friends.
They brought me up to pick friends that will represent me as well. Your friends are in a sense who you are as a person too.
