UPS is one of the USPS largest customers, wonder why? FYI, you have a typo in your article, in the advantages section to interposed usps where you meant UPS had high costs (here the beginning of section).

Shipped UPS for first time last week and packaged arrived with extensive shipping damage. Have always used USPS previously.

USPS has gotten much better over the years and has tracking visibility as good if not better now. They have an out for delivery scan that will allow customers to have a good idea when their package will arrive based on knowing when your mail arrives. Largest benefit is the residential delivery and carrier customer knowledge.

They are a better choice because they deliver door to door, also if they must leave a notice I can pick up the parcel from the local P.O. and not have to drive across town which may take over a hour to get do. The usps is more reliable and if there is a misdelivery the mailman will pick it up the very next day where as the ups you must call several time befote it is pick up.
