The conservative party has provided many innovations for Canadians and taxes have been lowered and Quebec sovereignty is no longer an issue in Canada.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because I have conservative values, and I believe they'll do their best for our country. Also, now is the time to be cutting our deficit.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Mr Harper is the best
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
This is not a vote for Stephan Harper, the man - he is an autocratic, one man show with a vengeful side BUT we need a majority government for the stability of the country in these challenging global economic times, a government who won't spend us into the hole.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because they have practical plan and vision for all canadians. they beleive in what they promise and do apretty good job of keeping their promise
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I believe in PM Harper and that he is trying to do what is best for Canada not promising money to win votes.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Taxes are already to high - and this destroys jobs. Businesses will move to tax-advantaged locations. The Libs would only make this worse and create another Greece.
While he may be boring, Harper has proven he knows how to keep a steady hand - the academics the Libs field know nothing about business or working.

The coalition-weighted kangaroo court that convicted the Cons of Contempt illustrates exactly why Canadians cannot trust the Libs and NDP to govern - all politics and no facts.

They will save our economy by continuing to be frugal. Liverals will over spend (as they always have), so they will have to raise tax (as they always have), and that will mean economic ruin.

It is the lesser of two evils. Stephen Harper could stop abortions and speak out against **** marriage but he doesn't. He is a big disappointment to real Conservatives.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I believe in less government and subsequently lower taxes; although, I support a stronger military. I do not support redistribution of wealth to assist people other than those that are mentally or physically challenged to the point where they cannot compete fairly.

Sound Leadership, principled man Mr.Stephen Harper (the quote of walk softly but carry a big stick always comes to mind with him)
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The current situation does not improve for individual Canadian citizens if they pay more taxes . Less taxes and reforms provide better framework
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Liberals want criminals to have the same right as non criminals and they want hard working, tax paying citizens to pay for criminals welfare becuase no one will hire them
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Steven Harper has been an incredibly good leader of Canada during his terms. Our country is better now for it because of his alliances with other countries leaders and maintaining Canada's strong economic profile. Steven Harper has used his background as an Economist to better predict the global economy helping Canada stay-the-course for growth.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The Conservatives have restored the image of our Military, which was destroyed by the Liberals, I also don't like that the Liberals give money to special interests groups and social programs.

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
A government that believes that people should be responsible for there actions
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Canada is too left-wing and we need to lower taxes so that all hard-working Canadians have more money in their pockets (which they deserve). Stephen Harper is in favor of keeping our country strong and our communities safe from harm. We need to get our economy back on top again by creating jobs with the EAP13 just put in place.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They prefer reducing tax.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
they seem to hold long stead values to a high degree and do not see the path that America is travelling as the one for Canada to follow.

liberals over spend and lie. the only platform is to legalize marijuana. that's where the votes will come from. and personally I would be embarassed to be from a country who has legalized cannabis.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Just better
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Stephen Harper is best for this country. We don't need to go the way America is going, which is even farther liberal than Canada is now.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The liberal party will bankrupt this nation, and Trudeau is a weak minded prson.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I am not in favour of big government. I want more stringent immigration control. I want more stringent gun control aimed at the criminals, not farmers and first nations. I want more stringent controls on benefits paid out to immigrants that they have not paid into. The liberal party has turned into a bunch of tree huggers and bleeding hearts. They can keep hugging the trees and they can go ahead and bleed but I am done with them. Never thought I would ever vote Conservative and my parents would roll over in their graves but I have to vote Conservative now.

Justin trudeau is going to destroy Canada . What he is doing & has done is not in the best interest of Canada in the long-term. His first post national state is a major problem He seems to have a favorism involvING muslims & terrorist .He seems to be Anti-Canada. He doesn't have the best interest of Canadian & the future. Letting terrorist keep their CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP is seriously a very big mistake . The promotion of multiculturalism and wide open immigration policies of the modern liberal government ideologies (originating primarily with Pierre Trudeau) will forever change the cultural identity of Canada along with profound changes that reflect a shift away from a secular Canadian society. This is happening globally in most countries of the west (e.g. Germany, France, Sweden, etc.).

The conservative government is different in that it favors economic immigration policies that help support the health and strength of the Canadian economy, and inadvertently helps support the continuation of the cultural identity of the country with less influence by non-secular ideologies. Other hallmarks of conservative ideologies such as smaller government, less regulation, etc. strengthen the fabric of our country.

Trudeau is a rich spoiled brat dictator who is enamoured by his own image in the mirror. He is not educated for the job and has no understanding about the need to have sound economic policies because his family fortune is secure - probably invested in middle east oil.

there should be no special groups in Canada and until that happens Canada will not become a great nation. it should be run as a business, no welfare checks for the natives, we have paid for their land 4 times over, it is time they started working and pay taxes like everyone else. No distint sociaties, this just separates everyone creating prejudice. everyone should be equal if they paying they share of the taxes and be judged on their abilities not race. if a person has a license for a firearm then they should be able to keep it, not have some one else say they have no need for it.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
My beliefs align more with the conservative party. Although I think politics in general has gone to the wealthy elite ruling the general public regardless of what party is the government. I believe we need to get back to smaller government, less taxes and more individual freedoms. We have developed into a nanny state and need to get back to individuals being responsible for themselves and their families.

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Canada is a country of provinces but the Liberals are primarily focused on Quebec first, Ontario second and everyone else are close to third class citizens. Canada is also a country which is resourced based yet the Liberals have passed laws that makes future resources hard to develop which has lead to an exodus of Companies from Canada which are the ones that not only employed Canadians but paid taxes. Their policies in the last four years have lead to unbalanced budgets, large unskilled immigration, and alienation of Canadians to the point that never before did you hear in the west about separation which you do now. We now have the first people kind PM who has broken the conflict of Interest twice which is two more times than anyone else, who preaches Carbon taxes but has a carbon foot print a 100 times more than anyone else with all his flying around. A Country that was once looked up to but now India, China, and Saudi Arabia look at us a sea of fools. Their isn't enough room to cover off all their lies and misdeeds and Canada will be paying off the carnage they are leaving us for a long time.

After the Olympics were hosted in BC, the federal deficit is large and needs management. Money derived from social program spending can be used to reduce the debt. Liberal budget management is preferable to the Conservative HST taxation management plan.

You can't run both systems for all of the hospital needs. Public care would have a hard time keeping doctors in the system if there was that high dollar staring them down from the private side.

The Conservatives came into power and almost instantly lost the surplus left by the Liberals. They aren't tough on crime as they preach, rather they are supportive of spying on people online and sending mentally handicap people to jail. Oh, and obviously, ELECTION FRAUD!

The Liberals have a strong fiscal, social record, and we wouldn't be Canada without them!

Conservatives are narrow minded, and don't have an open mind of the future. Our next generation will look back on conservative government with disgust that we as Canadians ever thought of being held back by an uneducated prime minister (Harper) and will forever oppose the funding of military programs. We don't need war, we need peace. We need to spend our countries wealth on our country.

I don't favor increased military spending or tougher laws as opposed to better social programs. The conservatives under Harper have disregarded environmental issues in favor of economic concerns, even though Canada is in better shape then most other countries. Economics is important but the need to factor in environmental collateral is vital as well.

The Conservative hard line is increasingly out of step with its citizenry, and with the shifting mood in the United States, where two states—Colorado and Washington—have already legalized recreational use, where others have reduced penalties to a misdemeanour ticket and where many, like California, have such lax rules on medical marijuana that one is reminded of the “medicinal alcohol” that drugstores peddled with a wink during a previous failed experiment with prohibition.

Because Harper and the Cons are dictators, arrogant, condescending and rude and they don't care about Canadians at all and they have been taking all the hardworking taxpayer funds and sent millions ($200 million, $40 Million, $30 Million, $50 Million overseas to the UN and to other countries where terrorists, for the most part, are in control and while, at the same time, cutting Canada's social safety programs such as veterans affairs offices, putting phone and internet instead of having real people that the vets could talk to, cuts to unemployment, cuts to pensions which means loss of jobs and laws which say that the unemployed should walk or travel miles from their homes for work, selling out Canada with their free trade deals which allow other countries to sue if they don't make a profit, allow international corporations to bring in their own workers from outside Canada, insanity I would say, they won't listen or make any amendments to any of their laws because they are always right, one of the MP's sticks out his tongue at another MP which is so childish it is unbelievable to me, another one calls people whities and brown people and much, much more. They won't take into consideration the opposition opinions, Canadians' opinions, expert opinions not even the Supreme Court and Harper has put Peter MacKay in the Justice Department and Attorney General so he can say everything is legal and aboveboard which it is not and the Supreme Court says so, there are many laws that were passed that don't pass the Charter of Rights and Freedoms or the Canadian Constitution. I feel they are traitors and are performing treasonous acts against Canadians. That's my thoughts and beliefs on the matter.

I think people should be who they want to be. If they are **** then that's fine, i fail to understand why that would affect me. I want people to be happy to live life to its fullest, to care for one another and accept them as they are. I smoke pot sometimes not a lot, but again this does not bother me. If this has benefits for not only health, but also to serve as a way to generate money for our governments who are suffering then do it. We don't generate the same revenue from cigarettes anymore, most people have stopped smoking ( good for them) as as the country grows and we need more and more things we need to find ways to generate revenue. I think that those who want it wanted it before and i don't thinking this will generate a huge new market of people buying, just buying it legally is all. Sure some will test it for the health benefits now being boasted and this will bring more people using cannabis, but i don't think it will be huge. And the costs of drug dealing is already heavy on our Gov Dollars, in terms of the jails and court systems and the free legal services many of the drug attics get. Lets save all that money and push people to legal use if they want it. Just like alcohol. Get the drug dealers earning an honest living a paying taxes like the rest of us!
