as WEIGHT=MASS X GRAVITY
ALSO,MASS IS JUST THE AMOUNT OF MATTER AN OBJEST HAS
WHEREAS WEIGHT :THE PULL (FORCE)BY WHICH AN OBJECT IS ATTRACTED TOWARDS THE EARTH AND IT DEPENDS ON GRAVITY AT A PLACE

SO,WEIGHT REQUIRES GRAVITY...!!!

Because it just happened to me while sitting under an apple tree and a ripe apple fell on my head and I started thinking, hmmm... déja vu! in another life I was in Mars and the same mass of apple weighed different as far as my experience is concerned. On Earth, it almost caused a blackout... I guess this planet has more mass and a stronger gravitational force than Mars... Anyways, you don't have to worry about Mars anymore, it is a dead planet..

Weight is the amount of material in interaction with the gravitational pull from another object. If you have an object with constant mass and you take that object from one location of gravity to another of lesser or greater gravitational pull the weight will change. If you break a peaice of the object off you have now just decreased its mass.

Weight is nothing but the mass of an object under the influence of gravity
