I think the army is better because they do things smarter they dont just go in there and do what ever they think before they act and i think they look badass.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because from the east to the west U.S. Army is the best

Training, Schooling, Funds, and the right to say "No" when you are supposed to-- INTEGRITY to do the right thing, for in justice lies victory.
(their uniform and sleeve policy sucks though).

Army trains Marines for airborne, and many other things too.

The Army is the best fighting force in the world and are trained more intensively than the marines. ;p

The army has soldiers.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The army is suited for a wider variety of missions and landings. For example, the army makes airborne and land assaults while the marines make amphibious assaults

Because my son is a Army Soldier and is proudly serving his country. Also my great- grandfather, my grandfather , my great-uncle and my uncle all served in the US Army.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The Army has a much bigger and broader scope and it is often tasked with establishing and expanding a military presence in the area. Generally speaking, Marines do the job of fighting individual battles, while the Army is more concerned with the war as a whole.

Rangers lead the way.

These men arn't going through training learning that "they are the best" like the marines do. They keep a similar state of mind of when then joined, making them humbler, and also making them feel a bit more vulnerable when heading into battle.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
rangers lead the way
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because it says so
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because there isn't any Soldiers in the Marines.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
This is a dumb question. They better all be brave. Th e above descriptions are ok for WWII but not War on Terror.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They are the best, there is no doubt.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I did 4 years in USMC, now im out i am thinking about joining the Army. They have a much more relaxed mindset, less arrogance and bull. You know the saying about grass on the other side. If i have any advice for anyone it is to make sure you 100% want to do this. Then if you decide to go through with it, dont forget those initial reasons you joined. They will be what makes you do your term honorably. People will call you “motard” = **** because of your motivation, etc…all in all just make sure its what you want to do, and stick by your guns. You will see people that have lost their way, just keep your head straight and worry about you in country, in combat look to your left n right. Semper fi i hope this helped someone. Its a big decision, you’re not just choosing a career, or a job, its a lifestyle that you must be willing to accept.

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The Army have more options on which their soldiers could show bravery, other than in the face of battle.

13F hooahh
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
why not.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Served with both down at Ft. Sill. Gotta say this about the Marines. They all managed to stop at the same time when marching. Their priorities were clear.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because the army is the only branch that has soldiers. Personal bias might have a role in my decision as well... but overall, bravery is doing something even though you’re scared half to death and I don’t think the majority of marines are intelligent enough to know fear, let alone do something in spite of it.

The Marines are the best fighting force in the world and are trained more intensively than the army
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Most of the guys in the army are there for the paycheck. Marines are trained less and fight more
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Really, I wanted to say both but since we can only choose one (which by the way, should be changed so we can vote for both choices), I'd have to say the marines.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
First to fight for right and freedom and to keep our honor clean, and 13 WEEKS OF TRAINING TO THE AMRY'S 8
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Even though I'm a veteran of the Army, I feel the training to becoming a Marine is intenser and Marines are conditioned more than Army soldiers to go into the heart of battle.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I'm a former MARINE
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Marines are a far fewer force, and they are expected to hold out without supplies or reinforcements for long periods of time.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because We are the best
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Combat is what the marines do, and all of them are trained to be as good if not better as the army rangers.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I was a Marine. Trained with the army. They lack the discipline of the Marines.

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
What you are saying are facts. But comparing the Army vs the Marines should not be based on their mission, or how they fight, organize, train, or equip but should be based on the effects during and after their mission. The Army and Marines are almost similar being ground forces but each of them has their own core competencies. However, the Marines is endowed with distinct competency that the Army does not have ... to do more with less, its part of their service's culture I think.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
According to US Army General "Black Jack" Pershing, the best weapon in the world is a "Marine and his Rifle".
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The Marines are proud to serve their country because whatever they do they valued it with their lives. Relating this culture in terms of money, the pay they receive or things they buy they always recognize their money's worth instead of saying I'm receiving a daily pay of "500 Dollars", they will say "Half a Grant": or Half a Million not 500,000 Dollars, etc...
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They signed up knowing that they would be the first to fight
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
first to fight, last to leave.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
First, the Marines are NOT a small part of the Navy. The USMC and the USN are both under the Department of Navy.
Second, the Marine motto "Every Marine a Rifleman".
Third, the Army has some excellent units, i.e. Rangers, 10th mountain, Airborne, etc.
Fourth, both the Army and the Marines have some VERY Brave troops.
Fifth, a MAGTF is a self sustaining combined arms force. It and army BCT are as self sustaining as logistics and re-supply will allow.

People join the Marine Corps because they are they best. There is a reason why people join the Army. Because they don't want to join the Marine Corps.

The Marine Corps has a harder, more intense, and longer bootcamp, followed by Infantry Training. Unlike the Army, whose uniforms do not measure up either.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Although both selfishly serve this country, and do a great job at it. The main question is who would you rather have next to you in a fox hole? I would have to go with the US Marine.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
they are brain washed
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago

Harder training, less things to work with, more discipline, get the job done quicker, and are way better infantrymen
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago

Both are great branches, I just believe the marines have a higher selectivity when it comes to psychological and physical standards.

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I believe the Marine Corps has troops because they have far better military bearing and every Marine I have met has been polite, and very sharp looking, while also possessing a keen eye. All the Army personel I have met have not had a certain look in their eyes. (Their eyes sort of look glazed over and don't have a fire to them)
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
operating with limited front line support a long time and not considering the logistic capabilities of your opponent is a crucial task and risk to undertake as military.
