Lord & Taylor is far superior to putting top brands like LACOSTE on sale before Nordstrom does! Why buy the same thing at full priice at Nordstrom when the exact same thing is 20% or more LESS at Lord & Taylor? Lord & Taylor wins hands down!
The workers at Nordstrom are very pushy in a phoney friendly sort of way while at Lord and Taylor it is hard to get someone to help particularly in the NY Store and sometimes they can be abrupt. In Nordstrom it is always regular price except for that half yearly sale while Lord and Taylor has periodic sales. On occasion because of the economy, Nordies has had more sales. On a whole, the style at Nordstrom is more Pacific Rim and not as sophisticated as what Lord and Taylor has offered over the years both in subtle advertising and outstanding artwork and window design. In sum, Lord and Taylor has a longer history, more sophistication and offers greater value but less of a casual Pacific experience that sometimes is interesting, but often at a much higher price.
They email a lot with lots of promotions.
I selected this option because I feel that it has a tad bit better a selection of everything. I also find it is more upscale than Nordstrom and always find it more relaxing a shopping experience. Lord & Taylor is better than Nordstrom. This is all in my opinion.
Well, I think that Lord & Taylor and Nordstrom both have their strong suits in certain departments. Lord & Taylor has a more upscale selection of something while Nordstrom has a more upscale selection of other things. Though I feel all around Lord & Taylor is more upscale than Nordstrom in a number of ways. This is all in my opinion.

I only recently started shopping in Lord & Taylor Stores, I had the notion that they were very expensive. I went in there about a month ago, had a doctors appt. and the store was right across the street. I was amazed at the wonderful sales that were going on. I was there today and purchased a Michael Kors Handbag with a 40% discount plus another 20% with coupon. Amazing. It is a class store with terrific bargains. They now have a new customer. Was so pleased and would highly recommend.
Friends and family sales can't be beat at Lord and Taylor!

I USE TO WORK FOR LORD AND TAYLOR IN MICHIGAN @FAIRLANE MALL IN DEARBORN 1995-2006,SO I KNOW THERE SALES ARE GREAT. I WORK FOR MACYS FROM 2007-2014 AND THERE SALE AND THE CLOTHESE THEY SALE DO NOT COMPARE WITH L&T. I EVEN PURCHASE 2PRS OF UGGS FOR GRANDDAUGHTER FOR $288+TAXE 5THUMBS UP FOR L&T
