Think American and holds its value . Nothing like having something powerful between your legs . Holds value , This is not a throw away motorcycle .

Harley was around a lot longer than Yamaha,Harley Davidson helped the americans through WWII did Yamaha?,no,in WWII Harleys were lightweight easy to maneuver and fast. And Germany was stuck with VW Beetles and a Dictator

The Harley is a pure American icon ,Sure the noise is LOUD but choose more style with slick design and classic look,Or a hunk of junk stuck in 2006.All though the Yamaha may be faster,But the Harley is more soothing and more of a bikers choice.A Yamaha lasts 8 years prblably but a Harley will last 10-12.Believe me,My grandpa bought one in 1993 or 1992 and the thing is still going.Anyway Yamaha was founded in 1887 and Harley was founded in 1903,but pick the Harley, please without it we might have lost the war,we MIGHT have.God bless Amercia and the Harley.

Yamaha has better built quality. Wildstar from day one was called "torque monster" and, believe me, for reason. Similar weigth, but Yamaha handles significantly better. Sounds nearly same, if somebody looks at this aspect. Raliable- prefer to spend time on the road, than in the garage.
Recently rode '11 Road King Police Special. Have to say, I was pleasantly suprized. But still, it wasn't match for Wildstar.

Better technology and more agressive quality control.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The refined Yamaha is just that much more advanced then the Harley in all aspects. I would like to see Harley put as much work into teh bike as the marketing.

While Harley's are much more reliable than in past years Yamaha is much more reliable and will outlive a harley

I have had one Harley and two different Yamaha's. The Harley was consistently in the garage for repairs, but the Yamaha has only been in for yearly tune ups. I love my Yamaha V-Star and Road Star. The Harley cant beat it!

the first thing on the summary of the hardley sorry harley is "historical weight and legacy cultural icon" before any of the pros of the bike were even mentioned, when the last time i checked porche engine in the harley was not american. the v-max is twice the bike since harley got spanked on the performance lets say you need to by the harley because of the legacy, cultural icon, and the sheer historical weight wow what a sales gimmic!

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Reliability and the V-Max is very impressive. I have owned many motorcycles throughout my life and Yamaha is on top of the heap. Don't take my word for it look it up.

Smoother ride and more dependable. Needs less repairs.

The Yamaha has been well established in the motorcycle world as a dependable fuel efficiency and styling for many years. Where as the Harley Davidson has been around longest and has established itself as pretty much the cruiser.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
economic ]s and power side by side
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I own a Yamaha 1986 Virago, It has 147,000 Kilometers on it. It has been trouble free other than a carb clean. I have known guys with a new Harley and a year later; they have to replace the engine. I know another HD guy shifted gears and the shifter broke. Reputation is non reliable.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Yamaha all the way, more durable , more stylish and above all RAW power.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
