Don't believe American Cheese is r e a l l y cheese. Think of it as equivalent to Spam. Yeh, Yeh a "meat product" ???? But really is not a piece of meat. American Cheese? is like that. Swiss cheese if fine on a sandwich and mixed with other cheeses in food. But does not stand well on it's own. Would not pig out eating a chunk of Swiss cheese when feeling calcium deprived.
I like a bit of tank lacking in American "cheese"--Swiss is a virtual tie with Cheddar [as I see it]
