BBC is worlds largest new broadcasting service with the largest share of the international audience. It also has dedicated channels to target persion and arabic viewers thus extending their worldwide influence.
Watch new bulletins from both stations and you'll see that the BBC will cover more of the world. If it's not N America, C America or the Middle East, there will be very little on-the-ground reports from CNN.
I think whenever i watch the two news sites BBc seems more impressive, BBC tend to have better international reporters than CNN. CNN ladies are just like always trying to showoff than give better reporting

BBC's less reliant on affiliates, they seem to have reporters absolutely everywhere. I am most impressed with their dry unemotional matter of fact style and tasteful station/segment identification audio and graphics.

I think BBC provides better journalism overall to CNN. Also, at least several of the CNN international anchors are abrasive and often project their own attitudes into their newscasts which I personally find annoying!
The BBC has a semi constitution sort of thing going on, one of them is to be as unbiased as possible, they will make an apology and re do the entire coverage if one news casters makes the slightest mistake. CNN as a british person still comes off as ridiculously biased

bbc has a HUGE amount of budget allowing it to spread everywhere. It also has a very professional look, whereas CNN looks like a cheap broadcast channel.

Actually, BBC is only slightly better. But what appears to be the case is that both networks are working in collusion, especially after 9/11.
It is quite evident that they both feature almost exactly the same news items, and interestingly when one item is completed on, say, CNN, it will appear immediately afterwards on BBC, or vice versa. This phasing is done deliberately to reinforce the impression made on viewers' minds of the topic being portrayed by both network.

BBC is in a different league. It takes things seriously, and objectively and does not advertise or have a corporate feel; like CNN does. It presents things a lot more objectively, and reports on far more areas around the world. It also does not concern itself with more trivial and "entertaining" things like CNN does - it's not as personal, but more professional.

The BBC has been around longer, and just from there commercial for there news station they seem more knowledgeable about what there asking. Also i get all of my news from BBC

I like both broadcast televisions however CNN's news covers mostly domestic news.
In contrasts, BBC broadcasts internationally rather than domestically.
For these reasons, I think BBC has better international coverage.

CNN has particularly US-centric news, which to some extent could be attributed to the Narcissistic tendencies of many Americans. The BBC on the other hand, provides more coverage of European issues, due to its geography and membership in the EU, while its legacy as a colonial power makes news from countries around the world that in the Commonwealth a fairly common occurrence.

CNN has a very basic view on international news, further shown by an obvious American angle choosing only to pick news which Americans will find interesting like the war on terror instead of picking something like Zimbabwe elections which the BBC covered very well. The BBC being the largest broadcasting corporation has many journalists who report from their own counties making the news coverage very personal and far more insightful. As shown in the great floods in Asia.
CNN is typically American in that much of its news coverage seems contrived and scripted! Also BBC seems to care more about the common man and is less elitist which goes with the territory in America nowadays!

I've selected BBC because it seems to have a more fact-based and less biased style of presenting information than CNN, which I consider to have more scripted news corresponding and an emphasis to things that appeal to Americans only. What's more the BBC takes a background and documentary-style approach to its subjects than CNN, which seems to have a more emotion-appealing tone to its subjects by not providing background info to them. Also what's more the BBC uses the concise metric system for all its users to understand, whereas CNN, NBC, Nat Geo, CBS and all other U.S networks use the more boring and everyday customary system for their users to understand. This thereby indicates that the BBC, as a public news service, expects its users to be very highly educated about the subjects it covers up, including showing overviews and country profiles about them, whereas CNN, a privately-owned news service, usually expects its users to be less educated by showing them subjects in the lowest common denominator without any fact-based information, and thus BBC can be usually considered to present subjects at "The Highest Common Denominator" to its users with its logical, fact-based information, thereby alluding to the UK's rich, old, respected educational heritage that includes such revered schools as Oxford, Cambridge, Eton, Harrow, and King's College that the BBC actually seems to stand up for as a public-based news broadcasting service.
