FedEx offers Saturday delivery and have quicker delivery when using the standard delivery. UPS standard delivery has taken up to 7 days to deliver a package while FedEx has delivered a package in 2 to 3 days standard delivery. I would choose FedEx as my delivery service if it was offered more often as a choice while shopping online.

ups is known for losing and destroying packages shipped with them.
If they loose your package try finding someone who cares. They are reckless beyond reason.
Fed Ex occasionally misroutes a package but you will get a real person when you call and they will stay with you throughout the process of locating the package. I have never had a damaged product when shipping with them.

Better Customer Service. Ground is quicker
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I tend to receive packages sooner when they come via FedEx, even when using the same shipping speed. I am also fond of FedEx's Saturday deliveries, which UPS (at least in my area) does not offer. If I order something on Thursday night with a two day shipping speed, it will typically arrive on Saturday from FedEx, vs Monday from UPS. I also recieve shipments earlier in the day (around 2:00 PM on average) from FedEx vs UPS (which usually arrive anywhere from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM).

Every item i've had shipped/delivered by/from UPS has ALWAYS gotten damaged, or broken in transit, and they say "it's not our fault". On the contrary, anything i've had shipped via FedEx is always on time, and the package, and contents is/are always in pristine condition! I feel bad for anyone who chooses UPS
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I like them
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Workers don't unionize, so they're is no possibility that your package will be undelivered at a blink of an eye. FedEx has standards for all it's employees to abide buy in which they have to test for each year (sometimes twice annually), as UPS just hires people off the streets and works them like they're pieces of meat resulting in employees having less care of the packages that go through the conveyor belt. FedEx has principles, values, and builds on the success of each team member, while UPS chews them up and spits them out.

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They been around for more 100 years vs fedex 30 years
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
it is a more reliable company.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
UPS has good customer service and makes sure they compensate accordingly. I just hate it when they say the package is late due to inclement weather condition...other than that everything else is excellent!
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Had better experience with them.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
FedEX apparently provides an estimated delivery date and will hold/delay movement to deliver on that date. They also do not deliver on Saturday's unless you pay extra. UPS delivers on Saturdays, and more often than not delivers earlier than their estimated date.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The Best Company
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Ups takes care of its employee workers, while FEDEX separates is two main operating companies which is FEDEX/GROUND/HOME DELIVERY. Therefore, the fedex corporation uses these workers as disposable people who end up not getting paid well added with the fact that they receive no health and welfare benefits and retirement. Inturn UPS has better service levels, while FEDEX EXPRESS and FEDEX GROUND/Home Delivery have packages being delivered on 3 different vans and you never know when they will arive.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
we deliver twice as many pkgs as fed-ex per day. our compensation plans for employees are fenominal. Fed-ex has faster service levels especially when it comes to freight

Ground deliveries are much earlier than FedEx. The FedEx driver covers three times the area and sometime doesn't make it to my business until after I've already closed
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
UPS drivers are more professional. The FedEx ground drivers have held back my delivery because they didn't want to drive out to my rural location until they have enough packages to justify their fuel....no resoluiton for this. Turns out they are not employees-contractors and the FedEx management team can't even do anything about it. terrible service
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Reliable, friendly and reasonably priced
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I enjoy using UPS services because they have more facilities that are withing a few miles of the main branch and cater to their customers accordingly. I feel that Ups needs to implement better options for pick-up and drop-off services for their clientele.

Fedex forced me to quit my job after i was assaulted.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Experince over 4 years dealing with both.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Fedex treats their employees like dirt puppets and even though UPS demands a lot from their workers they make sure that they are taken care of after they retire... The way a company takes care of their employees after they have used them up means a lot to me.

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago

Comparing my drivers for each the UPS driver simply treats my packages with more respect. The FedEx driver just leaves my packages anywhere its insulting as a customer.

In my experience UPS far exceeds FedEx in on time delivery. I am currently trying to access the FedEx web site and it is down. When I was able to access the site it showed package out for delivery yesterday. There was no delivery yesterday and no indication that delivery attempt would be made today. Site indicates held at FedEx location. If I could access the web site, I would have them hold the package for me to pick up since they can't seem to get the package to me. Never had these problems with Big Brown.

I have 2 packages out..both coming from same area back east...both shipping to same address..ground delivery. FedX was shipped out 1/30/13 with delivery for 2/4 thru 2/7/13 then changed to 2/11/13 then to 2/12/13. UPS was shipped out 2/5/13 with delivery for 2/11/13. Why the delay changes with FedX? Why should it take so much longer to go the same distance and direction? Weather was not a problem then. Both packages were in Phoenix at the same time but FedX let it sit a day or so. I don't think FedX is really equipped to do
ground deliveries. If I'd had the choice when ordering, I would have taken UPS.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They are more consistent, more on time, sometimes ahead of schedule. They are easier to communicate with when there is confusion or an error, have consistent drivers for their ground routes, while FedEx does not. When a UPS driver is lost, they call and get directions, and the package is delivered that same day. When Fedex has the same problem, they do not or are not able to communicate as well with the driver and the package is delayed a day or more. When a package is lost or broken, UPS is much better at handling claims.

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They have been the most consistent of the two that i have used, plus the package is delivered within an hour of when I normally get deliveries. My area of where i live gets delivered between 4p - 5p by ups.
Fed Ex gets delivered between 9a - 6p.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
UPS will pick up both air and ground packages using the same truck. FedEx you have to process the transactions for air separate from ground and also segregate the physical items to be picked up by 2 separate trucks/drivers.

FedEx is hard to deal with when you have an issue. I had a small damage claim that was denied for insufficient documentation even though I was told someone contact me with further instructions. I guess they hoped I would go away. Well I am--right next door to the UPS store.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
It's better.

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
With ups you will see just one driver handle all your needs while FedEx will use several
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
99 out of 100 ups is all good head to toe quality performance cost tlc on time no excuses...

fedex is 50 out of 100 at best..they just have the same poor quality controls for years now...bad tracking bad pricing worst cust svc...call center mentality really indifferent and un-professional
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Good
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
UPS delivers on time. FedEx says "2-day delivery", doesn't count the first day and doesn't count weekends so it takes 4 days, not counting the pickup day (5 days).

It just seems like they are much faster. One time we got air with FedEx, and it took almost a whole week to come, but in fact, we took air with UPS, and they came one day short with no damage. I've noticed that UPS understands the word "Fragile", while FedEx doesn't.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Ups is reliable and on time rather than FedEx who are slow and unreliable to its customers
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because this season I have missing packages and tracking just says "pending". I have one package and the last date of info was 12/8 and i still have no idea where my package is or when I will receive it.
