I love Mexico. I go every year to a different resort, and alternate Pacific and Carribean side. I have fun, I feel safe, it is affordable.
I have never been to Hawaii, I do want to go, I just look at what is the better value. Mexico is more bang for your buck!
People always talk about the safety in mexico... As long as you are smart you will be fine, same as in any American, Canadian or other city.
We prefer Mexico, although you feel much safer in Hawaii. Beaches are comparable in both places. We like the all inclusive because we like that there are a lot of activities going on around the resort and we find the Mexicans much more social. Hawaii is a very laid back holiday. If you like to read a book and have a very quiet holiday - go to Hawaii. We enjoy hearing music around the pool, playing beach volleyball, aerobics in the pool, etc. We also enjoy mingling with the locals and other vacationers - it is a lot more of a fun holiday in Mexico.

Mayan ruins, Fun, Caribbean sea, friendly people, ecotourism, excellent food!, great history, easier to reach, can be less expensive and it is SAFE....just use your common sense, like in anywhere else..
You can still find beautiful areas without so many hotels/touristic villages.

Nicer locals, less expensive prices, beautiful beaches & great food. I have been to Hawaii twice and Mexico three times (different locations each time).
hotels services are more for the family while hawai's is mostly for couples

It's more relaxed, doesn't feel like your in the USA. The people are the friendliest. The food is the best. Cheaper.
