Because Apple only cares about money and doesn't give any away.
They try to control everything that users do to what programs they are allowed to use and what hardware is compatible. There is no room for customization.
Look at any Mac desktop and other then the background they are all the same with the same programs, while PC/linux users no 2 desktop set-ups are the same
Apple actively denies consumers the right to truly "own" a device they purchase; by controlling a consumers choice of software, and limiting the possible sources of that software. Users have to "jailbreak" their devices in order to get non Apple approved software onto it, and if they do decide to jailbreak, Apple will actively try to break said device with future updates. Jobs is appearing to be less underdog and more sick control freak every day.
apple are by far the least free/liberal with there software/hardware.
Because they are beating Microsoft (in similar areas) with Microsoft's strategies.
People spend a lot of money that they do not need to spend on the Apple hardware.

Apple iPhones,ipods came from nowhere and took over bill gates light.
first of all apple was developed for graphic engineering, number commands, brief programs that justify speed, very specific, today they are more expandable, but before they never think in created a system that everybody be able to use. That means, the never thought of making the internet, I don't know why they isolated a great technology for engineering exclusively. Today they try to diseminate they wonderful products around the world, because there is no other choice.
But IBM was responsable to expand and create another way to be connected in the world INTERNET. And for many people who believe that microsoft is not use in Europe, that is no true, many companies running they business in microsotf.
apple is not diverse on the other hand microsoft is everywhere
I chose apple not because of their difference in hardware (which is pretty big) but because of the outrageous and ridiculous price apple puts on their products

They are bunch of liars, stating that they invented this and that. In reality they just stole ideas from others and claim its their invention; "Really" evil(fake innovations). They sell their stuffs way "overpriced". Not only that, but each new version of iOS creates bloatware on your phone, causing your system to slow down/not work (in other words "lag"). Thus strategy which makes the consumers buy the newly announced "iPhone".
Because apple is dumb and always tricks you into wasting your money 💵 to buy dumb things!!! That and Microsoft is just how do I put this, BETTER!!!
