It's a much older calendar deeply rooted in a true study of the stars over thousands of years. It takes into acount the study of the universe by todays view things were still trying to comprehend in such a technological age and the mayans, ancient egyptians and others all seemed to come to the same conclusion in a time we consider primitve to today. But in fact it's hard to dispute at least 3 different races in at least 3 different parts of the world all having calendars that end at the same time.

Because there is only a 17 seconds error compared to the Gregorian calendar which has a 6 hours error.
We r not even for certain that we know how to read the Mayans calendar therefore how do we know then If we read their calendar with out knowing exactly how they based the conclusion that the Gregorian calendar is correct?
