marvel has some amazing characters, comics, and moveis, but i have grown up with DC, and also love the characters more. If i was judging on the comics themselves, alone, i would go for marvel, but i also am talking about movies and tv shows. In tv shows, DC dominates with cartoons of JLA, and batman, and live action with smallville. Movies they are near equal. In animated move standards, DC wins again, but in live action movies, Marvel probably has the upper hand with more character and comic adaptions: xmen, spiderman, fantastic 4, hulk, ghost rider, iron man, punisher, blade, and the upcomeing avengers, thor, and captain america. DC at the moment only Really has: V for Vandetta, The Watchmen, Superman (which has been doing poorly recently), and of course batman/dark knight, which is why everyone loves DC (cuz batman rocks!). DC does have some upcoming adaptions being released to catch up to marvel however, including: The man of Steel, The Dark Knight Rises, and The Green Lantern. Also, in the future, they will be releasing a second watchmen, flash, wondermoman, and a justice league adaptions. And alot of the above mentioned marvel adaptions were aweful (xmen 3, xmen orogins, both fantastic fours, the first hulk, both punishers, and blade 3 and 4. Some are average: Incredible Hulk, Iron man 2, spiderman 3, xmen 1 and blade 1 and 2. and Some are great: Spiderman 1 and 2, Iron man, and X-men 2. DC has some aweful as well though: batman and robin and superman 3 and 4. Some average: batman forever, original batman, superman 2, superman returns and V for Vandetta. and Some Great: Watchmen, Batman returns, batman begins, the dark knight, Superman: the movie. I am also guessing when i say that the man of steel, The dark knight rises, and green lantern will also be great. I think that for the most part, DC does better quality movies when it wants to, where as marvel just tries to throw some out there to gain popularity and money quickly.

Marvel passed DC in comic book sales in 2002 and DC passed Marvel in comic book sales in 2011. The truth is the number 1 and 2 spots have been flip-flopping for a while. So the article you wrote is fairly misleading. Since I'm a huge fan of both companies it does appear that you slanted your article towards marvel. In fact in 2011 DC had 51% of the shares and Marvel had about 30 percent of the market shares and these numbers tend to flip around. So some years Marvel is beating DC and some years DC is beating Marvel. As for popularity between Spiderman and Superman well that partly, because Spiderman relates to alot of people. To be fair Superman is still the most recognizable character internationally among comic fans and non-comic fans so more people actually know who Superman is compared to Spiderman.
I picked DC cause they have Batman which is my favorite superhero. But Marvel has better superhero movies IMO.
With Batman alone that is all he has to rely on. Fact is this, until a side by side movie can be done fanboys are gonna hate. I love DC and Marvel, what the **** is wrong with that? DC is a lot darker than Marvel which I enjoy while Marvel has a wider cast of characters which I enjoy. Fanboys piss me off
i think dc has to many un kown old heros that no who cares about to me all they have is bat man and superman and all marvel needs to top that is spiderman
