Music is more relaxing simply because you don't have to do anything but sit back and listen to beautiful sounds no reading, no anything. Just closed eyes and open ears.

With music you can hear lyrics and instruments and also gives you imagination,, while books you read the words which also gives you imagination, but in my opinion it's not as strong imagination as the music

Music is universal. You don't have to sit and concentrate. Rather music drags you into itself. It also creates a rush of good feeling hormones which books can't.

I love books and music but music feels like a more convenient way of reading. Both books and music tell stories but I can't read while walking down the street or working.
